Golf Fitness Tip
How you squat can tell you a lot about your swing. Here's why I incorporate squats into EVERY client's workout.
- The squat requires function of the ankles, knees, hips and spine. If there is dysfunction in any of these areas, it will show up during a squat, and even more in your golf swing.
- Squatting is a closed chain exercise, which means you're basically interacting with the ground. Being able to anchor your feet and push down into the ground is something that needs to constantly be reinforced as interacting effectively with the ground in the golf swing is paramount to stability and club head speed.
- During a squat, you want to maintain your spine angle. Your spine should run parallel to your shins. Similarly, maintaining spine angle during the swing is huge in terms of consistency.
- The squat is so versatile. Not everyone will be able to squat perfectly, but there are so many progressions and regressions to customize the squat to the individual so they still get the benefit and carry over into their movement.

Road Closures - 21 April
The Sharks vs Stormers match is being played on Saturday 21st April at 17h15. Members are reminded to please produce their membership cards at the boom in order to gain entry to the club. Third parties may not use a members card. The driving range will be open for parking from 15h00 onwards. Please ensure that your vehicle is not left on the range overnight. The lower pedestrian gate will be open from 15h00 until 21h00 after which it will be locked and members will need to use the main entrance.
Autism Awareness Run
Blue and You Autism Awareness Run takes place tomorrow morning 21 April at Natal Mounted Rifles.
The Corner of Masabalala Yengwa Avenue & Isaiah Tshangase Road will have one lane closured from 6h00 until 10h30.
Please have your membership card handy and extra time in case of delays.
