As previously communicated, the Club appointed a handicap committee to deal with all member handicap issues. Members should also by now be aware that it is the policy of the Club to enter a Revised Gross (calculated according to the SAGA handicap manual) in respect of prizewinners for each Wednesday and Saturday competition. It has come to the attention of that committee that, in certain instances, the Revised Grosses of certain prizewinners from recent weeks was not entered by the Club. The committee is in possession of all of the relevant scorecards and the Club will calculate and enter those Revised Gross scores. The respective members will not be penalised for the late entry of these scores.
It has also come to the attention of the committee that in certain instances, players (including non-prizewinners) have entered an incorrect score from that which appears on their scorecard. These issues will be rectified and the relevant members will be notified accordingly. Please ensure that you always enter the correct score.
Members are also urged to correctly and neatly complete scorecards, utilising the player’s correct name (i.e. not nicknames) and to ensure that only one player (or team) is entered on each card, together with the marker’s score (or the marker’s team score). Failure to adhere to this policy may result in a player’s card being rejected and the player being ineligible for any prize.

Golf Fitness Tip
Posture is the body’s original angles at address or set up. In order to be consistent, we must attempt to keep these angles the same throughout the swing. Ultimately, this gives us the best chance of building a swing that is repeatable, especially under pressure. Maintaining your posture requires a certain amount of flexibility and stability. There are many ways to lose your posture. I would like to focus on one of the most common forms, namely Early Extension. Early Extension is when the hips and/or spine straighten too early in the downswing. This is typified by a forward thrust of the pelvis towards to ball (to be seen from a down the line view). Often it can be noticed as “standing up through the shot”. You may feel as though your arms are “stuck” and do not have a free path to the ball. Early Extension is very often a result of a lack of mobility and flexibility in the hamstrings.
Hamstring flexibility is a huge contributor to maintaining posture in the swing. Having tight hamstrings (males in particular) restricts your ability to properly hinge at the hip. In order to keep our posture, we need to maintain a degree of hip hinge throughout the swing. Often golfers with tight hamstrings possess too much knee flex at address, to compensate for the lack of hip flex. As a result, many clients experience the sensation of having their weight on their heels, often compensating on the downswing by extending the hips, and there is your early extension! According to studies conducted by the Titleist Performance Institute, 43% of amateur golfers could not touch their toes, limiting their ability to hinge at the hip.
Can you touch your toes without bending at the knees? If you can't, your posture might be compromised.

I hope you are well.
I just wanted to thank you so much for everything you did to help make my son's birthday party on Monday a success. We had a wonderful time, and we were so impressed with how everything was organised - the food was absolutely amazing!! And the ladies on duty where so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them.
I was so impressed last year with my daughter's party and again now for my son's - DCC has very quickly become our favourite party venue.
So again, thank you for all the efficient and friendly service you offered. We greatly appreciate the excellent job that you and your colleagues did in making my son's birthday the awesome day it was. We are so grateful.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
The Durban City Marathon takes place on Sunday 15th April and the following road closures apply: Masabalala Yengwa (NMR) will be closed entirely from Goble to Battery Beach. Organisers say that the north bound lane will open at 06h30 but this cannot be guaranteed. The M4 will not be affected therefore members are able to access the club via the M4.
