Message from the Chairman

Dear Members

It is with regret that I advise members that Pascale has given the Board notice of her resignation as CEO of the club to take effect on 31st January 2018. Pascale’s employment agreement makes provision for a three-month notice period so as to give the Board time to find a suitable replacement and undertake an effective handover.

I would like to thank Pascale for her hard work and dedication to the club during what can only be described as difficult and trying times.

The Board wishes Pascale all the best with her future career.

Ladies AGM

Date: Friday 24th November at 12h15
Venue: Athlone room

Ladies Chat:

We finally played our Beachwood Shield Open this Tuesday 17th October, after having had to postpone it from last week due to the storm badly affecting both our courses. Beachwood has already recovered well from the floods and we had 52 ladies playing, of which 20 were visitors from other clubs. The conditions were superb despite a few puddles remaining on the 3rd and the 15th fairways. The format is 36 holes: Better ball in the morning and Foursomes in the afternoon as a “practice round” for Interclub next week at Dundee.

I.SMART, the electronic massages device, sponsored 4 nearest to the pins and the Beachwood Pro Shop, along with Don Gammon sponsored the longest drive and the nearest in 2 prizes. We are very grateful to them. Thanks to Prashay for the check in and to Connor for the scoring as well. The day ran very smoothly and all the ladies were very pleased!

Here are the RESULTS :

Nearest to the Pin on the 2nd: Atri Wilson from Kloof
on the 7th : Atri Wilson again!
on the 12th: Shirley Balladon (alias 2 for 5), from DCC
on the 18th: Carol Dixon from Kloof too!

Nearest to the pin in 2 on the 14th: Bee Williams from MECC
Longest drive on the 10th: Sally-Ann Hyatt from MECC as well.

Better ball AM- Winners: Corinne Cozens & Carol Chamberlain, from Umhlali on 46 pts
Runners-up: Thyna Soobramoney & Sally-A Hyatt from MECC on 45 pts

Foursomes PM-Winners: Cherryl Surgeson & Shirley Koster, from DCC on 34 pts oco
Runners-up: Shirley Govender & Judy Jivan, from DCC on 34 pts oco

BEACHWOOD SHIELD-Winners: Yasmin Bramdev & Maggie Jarvis, from DCC on 80 pts
2nd place: Jean Whitfield and Lou Field, from DCC on 78 pts
