Ladies Golf News

Our Charity weekend is now over and I believe it was a huge success considering the congratulatory messages I have received from all of you and from the other clubs members!

We were very lucky with the weather conditions and the golf course was superb! We had a full field of 132 ladies from all different clubs such as Athlone, Mount Edgecombe, Umhlali, Zimbali, Simbithi, Eshowe, Royal, Kloof, Maritzburg, Victoria, Costwold Downs, Selborne, Amanzimtoti, Port Shepstone, SAPS and even George!

Thank you to Don Gammon for giving us a good rate and to Connor Henderson for the scoring. The Belvedere room was classy and elegant and the food outstanding! Thank you to Julian and the staff for setting up the room and Jennie Shaw for doing the décor. Congratulations on the food quality, presentation and service to Xanthos and his team! And thank you to the club for the Bistro vouchers.

The entertainment with the ladies’ fashion show from Beautiful Me Golf was very amusing and those outfits were really beautiful! Well done to our very special models, Debbie Bradshaw, Tracy Payne, Lou Pullan, Glen Wickham and Lana Titmus on their performance! The prizes and the lucky draws were stunning and I guess the winners were all thrilled! A huge thank you to all our sponsors and donators for making the prize giving so enjoyable!

In a word, it was a real success thanks to all the committee members, especially Jean Whitfield for coordinating everything! Thanks again to all of the lady members for their participation and contribution! We now have to access the accounting to see how much we have raised in total but I suspect nearly R60 000 so far! We had a late fantastic donation of R5000 from an anonymous member. Thank you again so much to all our generous sponsors!

Special thank you to Judy Paterson, Wendy Maître and Bridget Lee who didn’t play but came early in the morning to help at the registration table and assisted in selling raffle tickets!

The winning team: Lauren Challis–Chandler (DCC), Nicola Nel, Kerry Prescher and Tarryn Corejees (ex DCC ladies), currently Athlone members on 83 points winning a week end for 2 people at Princes Grant with 2 rounds of golf!

Fitness Classes

Fitness classes are being held on a Monday & Thursday at 17h00

Feedback from Mike: Kim's classes are great. A beautiful and inspiring setting, friendly atmosphere and the right mix of hard work and fun. Having participated for the past month, I have more energy and feel more flexible. I highly recommend these classes.
